I believe that ART whether it be an oil painting,
a sculpture, a watercolor or an exquisite
landscaped garden should move the person
that is viewing it. The piece should make you
feel something, anger, pleasure. enjoyment
anything but apathy. The greatest reason that
I paint is that when I am creating a painting I
am absorbed in the piece, I walk the lanes, or
the fields, or play in the snow. I try to put
myself into that place and capture not only
the scene but the feeling of the time.
There are a few artists that I have admired and they probably influenced me more that I really know. My favorite artists are all
impressionists beginning with Monet. The more modern of the impressionists would include Alex Perez, Claude Cambour. Jean
Claude Pico and lately Anatole Krasnyansky. Mr. Krasnyanski mostly because of his use of color and the distinct sharp lines in his
more recent works.
One artist friend after looking at my work stated "It brings an emotionally passionate and at the same time a serene quality to me".
A friend who has one of my works said that her and her family were so pleased with the Beautiful landscape with its colors was
very professional.
